Prizes for Classes: 1st- $4.00, 2nd - $3.00, 3rd - $2.00
Appearance - shell texture: smooth, thick shell wall, strong, no opaque spotty patches when held to candling light, no cracks, no wrinkles.
Uniformity - size should be even and consistent, all eggs the same grade.
Condition - Shell clean but NOT washed, no visible dirt, stains, or shiny surfaces.
Yolk round, yellow-orange, well centred, stands up well, no blood spots or meat chunks visible.
Albumen - (egg white) should be reasonably firm and should not run on opening or candling.
Air cell - indicates freshness and should not be more than 3 cm (1.18in) deep.
1. Hen Eggs, white - 1 dozen in a carton, clearly show name of breed on entry tag
2. Hen Eggs, brown - 1 dozen in a carton, clearly show name of breed on entry tag
3. Largest Hen Egg, displayed in egg cup (by weight)
4. Smallest Fowl Egg, displayed in egg cup (by weight)
5. Display 6 eggs from any other fowl, example: Bantams, Guineas, Ducks. (all six eggs to be from one fowl) Clearly Named - displayed in a container other than an egg carton.
