Honey will be judged according to Agriculture & Horticulture Judging Standards for Ontario Fairs. Prepared and Printed by the Ontario Association of Agriculture Societies.

1. All entries must be in a 500 gram (375ml) clear glass jar.
Tips: Judges Look for:
Containers pleasant appearance, clean, free of imperfections like marks and scuffs.
Uniform level of fill. (uniform level of fill means - honey must cover the fill line).
The fill ring is the raised ridge or ring of glass immediately above the shoulder of the jar, and below the closure threads.)
There should be no air space between the honey and lid.
Clarity: free from crystals, pollen, wax, foam, lint, air bubbles either in suspension or as a froth.
Appearance: colour should fit colour class name.
Uniformity of the honey.
Brightness of honey, not dull (which could indicate impurities in the honey)
Density: (Grade 1)-Less than 16.5% to 17.8%)(Grade 2 between 17.9% to 18.6%
Flavour: taste and aroma

District Competition - the winner of Liquid Honey - White will be eligible to enter the District Competition at the OAAS District #11 Fall Meeting. If an exhibitor has won at more than one fair, the one closest to the exhibitor’s home address is the agricultural society from which the entry will be sent.
Provincial Competition - the winner from the District Competition is eligible to enter the Provincial Competition at the OAAS Convention the following February. The entry must consist of two clear 375ml glass containers. Entries must be labelled on the bottom of the containers with a supplied entry number or identifier. No labels will be permitted
