1. All exhibitors are asked to pay a $5.00 membership fee, except Juniors entering in the Junior Section. Juniors who wish to exhibit in the Senior Section must pay the $5.00 membership fee.
2. The grounds will be open at 8:00 am. On Fair Day. the Exhibit Hall opens at 10:00 am and admission to the Fair is: Adults and Students - $5.00 Children under 12 - free. A membership card entitles the card holder to free admission to the fair.(*ages as of current fair date.)
3. Please be advised that names of all winners may be published and anyone attending the fair may have their picture published on our website or in the local newspapers.
4. The Emsdale Agricultural Society accepts no responsibility whatsoever, expressed or implied, for any loss, accident, damage, or injury to any person or animal on the grounds or in the buildings.
5. All exhibits and produce must have been produced by the exhibitor on his/her own property. All livestock must be the property of the exhibitor.
6. Each exhibitor of livestock shall be responsible for his/her animals being sufficiently secure and under control, to prevent injury to people and property.
7. All exhibits must have entry tags attached,except livestock. Exhibits for the hall must be brought to the Emsdale Community Centre on Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm or Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm before fair day.
8. Entry tags are to be filled out clearly, readable and written in pen. Tags require the exhibitor’s name, mailing address and phone number, exhibitor number, section number, class number and name of article.
9. One entry per class allowed in the hall exhibits.
10. No persons except judges, and necessary officials and attendants,shall be permitted in the exhibit hall or judging areas during judging.
11. No person is allowed to interfere with the judges while in discharge of their duties. The judges, whose decision shall be final unless it can be shown that some rule of the society has been violated, shall use their discretion in the awarding of a prize, whether there is a competition or not.
12. Any exhibitor or attendant who is guilty of creating a disturbance, whether by openly criticizing the judge or using obscene language to any judge or officer, shall therefore forfeit the right of any premium and may be suspended by the society from exhibiting.
13. Directors will take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of exhibits, but the owner must assume risk of exhibiting. Should any article be accidentally injured or lost, the Directors will give all assistance possible towards recovery of same, but will not make payment for exhibits injured or lost.
14. Hall exhibits must be picked up after 4:00 pm on the Saturday of the fair - PLEASE NOT BEFORE. Any exhibits not picked up within 7 days after the close of the fair will be disposed of at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
15. All prize money and/or cheques will be dispersed at the Annual Awards , date to be announced.
16. Any prize monies not collected or cheques not cashed by December 31st of the current year will be considered forfeit and will fall back into the funds of the society.
When making an entry, the exhibitor shall indemnify and Hold Harmless the Emsdale Agricultural Society, their members, agents, and employees, from and against all claims, demands, losses, costs, damages, actions, suits or proceedings by any third parties that arise out of , or may attribute to, all operations performed by or carried out by the exhibitor, his agents, employees, or servants, or anyone for whose acts he/she may hold liable, however caused.
