Exhibitors are to have their own containers in all of the sections.
Please use a clean glass vase/ container for cut flowers.
All Flowers and Plants must be grown by the exhibitor.
Potted Plants must have been in the possession of the exhibitor for at least 3 months prior to the fair.
the judge looks for uniformity, straight stems and clean, undamaged flowers and foliage. That means there should be no marks on the petals and/or foliage. Carefully remove any blooms that are no longer fresh. Remove flowers and foliage that have holes in them. The entry is to look fresh with no wilting/limp flowers and foliage. Remove any foliage below water level as it will rot. Have all stems straight and the same length. And flowers should also be the same shape and size when entering more than one.

Tips: Exhibits should be free of disease and insect/mechanical damage, no damage to container and grown plants should be well established. Plants need to be clean and free of dust, debris and pests. Containers for potted plants should be clean and stable. Also the top layer of soil is cultivated to give a fresh appearance. Spent blooms should be removed except cacti. Leaves that are marred, broken, dead, yellowed and/or bleached should be removed. Browning leaf tips and /or edges can be trimmed, provided a leaf’s natural contour is maintained.

Rules
Fresh Flowers and Greenery are to be used unless stated otherwise. Use of accessories only if stated can be used.
Tips: what judges look for:
Balance - a design does not appear top heavy, bottom heavy or lopsided.
Proportion - Plant and Flower materials should be in proper relationship (scale) to container.
Condition - Flowers and Greenery should look fresh and crisp with no wilting or color fading. There should be no evidence of disease or insect injury, or old or wide -open flowers.
Construction - Foliage should be inserted so you can not see the foam, wiring, taping or other materials used to hold stems in the container. One -sided arrangements should have back of an arrangement finished with foliage.
60. “Give Thanks” - a buffet table design using home grown flowers, fruits, herbs and/or vegetables, accessories permitted.
61. “Itsy Bitsy” - a miniature design, not to exceed 5” (13cm). In any direction. Including container
62. “Celebrating Canada” - one-sided arrangement , not to exceed 12” in any direction
63. “Pitcher Me” - an arrangement in a pitcher using one colour of your choice, foliage permitted.
64.“Christmas Holidays” - a holiday centrepiece using candle(s), accessories permitted.
65. “Nature’s Beauty” - a design using native materials - grasses, mosses, driftwood etc.
66. Men’s Special “Stepping High” - an arrangement in a work boot.
67. “People’s Choice” Theme ”Second Time Around” - a design in a recycled container. Your interpretation will be judged by people attending the fair. Ballots will be available at the canteen.
